ENTRIES are flooding in to the newsawards HQ in advance of tomorrow’s February 2 closing date for the 22nd annual gala awards night, which this year takes place on 18 April.
Early indications are that the event, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, promises once again to be a showcase of the very best of the industry’s printed, digital and business products from around the world.
Twenty-one titles are up for grabs in total, including four new categories.
The Printing Charity has been confirmed as sponsor of the International Printing Innovation of the Year. “We’ve all heard the stories about the demise of print, but if there were ever an industry capable of adapting and innovating it’s this one,” said the charity’s chief executive Neil Lovell.
“Print is changing for sure, but just look at the many forms of print that are part of our everyday lives. It’s a fantastic sector and we champion it not just because of its ability to innovate, but also because it is a vibrant sector in which to work.
“It’s great to be part of newsawards 2018 as sponsor of the International Printed Innovation of the Year Award and share the awards evening with many organisations who help us as supporters and friends in our work as the industry’s only dedicated charity.”
Later this month and in early March, two distinguished panels of judges – one for the Print Awards and a separate one for the Digital and Business Awards – will gather at Newsprinters Broxbourne manufacturing plant in Hertfordshire and at Google’s London HQ to scrutinise entries. All nominated entries will be announced by mid March.
